Ted Talks

Many of you are probably already familiar with Ted Talks. For this week, we are going to ask you to choose ONE of these videos to watch before the next week. In order to ensure that not everyone watches the same one, please sign up on the google sheet. Try to choose one that has the least names when you sign. All the videos should have at least one to two viewers from each class.

You should watch the videos with a critical eye. Come to class prepared to a) give a quick overview of the video content; b) give your (professional) opinion of the talk. Some points you might consider: were there points that were new? were the points supported with theoretical rationales or were most points opinion-based? was the talk convincing? would you recommend it to fellow teachers? did you get new ideas about teaching approaches? was it inspiring? did you discover any ideas that you would consider adding to a telecollaborative language learning project and how? Was there anything you disagreed with regarding the video watched?
