2nd online meeting
This week's meeting is quite straightforward:
1) You have been discussing future predictions with your classmates. Think about your future students (primary or secondary). If they are 8 or 18 years old now, what will their life be like in 10 years time (2030)? What jobs might they have? Try to answer these question in your group (try to come up with a specific list of possible jobs). If you are stumped, you might be inspired by this list.
2) What are the competences, skills and knowledge these students will need when they are adults? Make a list of ideas.
3) What are some challenges and problems they may face in the future? Add these to your list.
4) How is language learning relevant (or not) to these jobs?
5) As language teachers, what are some features (competences, activities, learning content) that you might add to a telecollaborative project to ensure that your students are getting TRULY prepared for the future?
6) Brainstorm some ideas for projects that integrate some of these ideas you have just discussed. The scribe should add these ideas to your group project draft (send template). By the end of the meeting you should try to at least have some ideas for the 'big picture' and a starting list of learning objectives.
7) Don't forget to choose your next discussion leader and scribe for the next meeting! The scribe should add the minutes & evidence to the group folder.
8) The scribe should also create and add a 'brainstorming for ideas' google page to your group folder to be used in the following weeks. This page will be used by each member to collect ('steal') new ideas to be discussed in your group as you see and read about other projects.
